Where I Live:: Chicago, IL

About Me:: Originally from ABQ - having moved across the US for work - I check the internet frequently to find out what's happening in my hometown.

I never recovered from my breakup with ABQ. I guess you can take the boy outta ABQ, but you can't take ABQ outta... well you know the rest.

Anyway, I left for San Francisco and lived there for about 4 years, then my job moved me to Chicago where I've been since 2003. I visit ABQ frequently, because my family and good friends from college (who since leaving after college, have returned) are there. I WILL BE BACK ONE DAY SOON!

Favorite Thing(s) About Albuquerque:: Mountains (and hiking), food, the people (especially the qwerkie ones), climate, history, culture.

I consider myself now to be a New Mexican, Nuevo Mexicano, Hispano or Hispanic. I agree that NM is generally more at ease with the mix of cultures than anywhere else I've been. I think that's why so many New Mexicans that leave eventually come back.

I truly never really appreciated the beauty and uniqueness of NM till I did some traveling and living out of state. I'm truly proud to be from here.

Anyway, good to hear your perspective man.
