Being Nosy High Above Albuquerque

You can't escape it. The technology is high above our heads floating in space. Today anybody with a computer has access to the peering eyes of satellites thanks to Google Maps and its satellite function. Through the images, you can reall… Continue

Breaking Bad: TV Show shot/based in Albuquerque has me hooked.

Last night I saw a preview of a show that had shots of Albuquerque, so I knew I had to tune in to check it out. After watching one episode of Breaking Bad (AMC Channel), I'm hooked. The show is about an Albuquerque chemistry teacher who decides to cook meth to support his family after learning he has cancer. It's a dark comedy that is amusing to watch as familiar Albuquerque scenes appear throughout the show. The acting is good and the… Continue

The Dog Who Stopped the War

I'm trying to find this movie that I remember seeing when I was a little boy----it's a Chrismas movie. Anybody see it for sale around Albuquerque? I think the film is too old to be sold at the big-box video stores---or too obscure.

I vaguely remember it's about a massive snowball fight with a cool snow fort. At the end a dog di… Continue

"Merry Christmas," "Happy Holidays" or "Happy Festivus?"

I walked into Target on Paseo the other day and something jumped out at me. It was quite noticeable--a "Merry Christmas" sign. Honestly, it's been a while since I've seen a "Merry Christmas" sign at a major retailer. You can see how all of them are trying to make everyone happy with terms like "Seasons Greetings" or "Happy Holidays."
But does it really matter?

According to a recent survey, people do care.

Her… Continue

Hi Jeremny - The barber shop on 4th Street sells those stickers, or they used to sell them. I keep meaning to stop by and pick one up. Thanks for the reminder!

Hi - just wanted to say that I appreciate your website and blog. With the limitations of soundbites and television time constraints, it is nice to see an attempt to fill in the gaps, giving us readers a chance to learn more about the story behind the story.

Hey, how ya been? I'm doing well. I'm on the east coast for a few months but will return to LA in October. I drove here (I'm in Delaware) and did spend 2 nights in ABQ on my way. I will spend a few nights on my way back. I really miss that town very bad and can't wait to move back in a few years. Drop me a line sometime when you get a chance.
