Where I Live:
Fringecrest | SE Heights
About Me:
I love Albuquerque's long history and rough edges -- the chaos, the culture, the hole-in-the-wall eateries. I also love supposedly "bad" neighborhoods and anything off the menu that people call "strange."

In early 2005, I created Duke City Fix.

In real life, I'm a web architect and strategist. I help build teams and create strategy for large scale websites such as Bioneers and the City of Albuquerque. Duke City Fix is what I do "for fun" as an obsessive sort of hobby.
Favorite Thing(s) About Albuquerque:
Alleyway murals, Talin internation market, State Fair, Sandia mountains, Day of the Dead parade
Relationship Status:
In a Relationship

What I'm Reading:

What I'm Listening To:
Daft Punk, Alive 2007

Apricot overload in the 'hood

Picking Apricots It's apricot season in Albuquerque. Whether it's you, your neighbor, or your friend, chances are there's an apricot tree in your life laden with overripe fruit this week. Now. I've tried (and failed) at plenty of canning endeavors. This is… Continue

Put your poetry on Albuquerque buses (and win a laptop while you're at it)

I love poetry. And I love public transportation. The two are forming a happy union this summer as part of ABQ RIDE's "Poetry on the Bus" program, so the long-time local poet Mikaela Renz-Whitmore and I h… Continue

10 minutes in a Nob Hill parking lot

So there I was in a Nob Hill parking lot behind a rainbow painted car with an Om on the trunk, when a couple walked by. She was late 20s, he at least 65. Unaware of my presence, they kissed giddily and she tugged on on…

UPDATED: Operation "Drop Grandma @ the Sunport"

At about 10pm last night, I received this email from a friend who apparently has an unaccompanied grandma at his house. How that happens, I have no idea but she needs a ride to the Sunport this morning and we've volunteered for chauffeur duty. Here are the instructions I received from her Albuquerque grandson:
First off, thank you thank you thank you.

Second, here are the details:

1) Her name is Lucy
2) She does not have a key to the house
3) She get…

Can I just share my love for the name "Dick Knipfing"? Seriously, "Richard Knipfing" just does not cut it. Dick is the only way to go.

Aw your story about the kitties is so sad :( All huddled up. Sounds so pitiful. That would totally break my heart. If I had animals that were traumatized I think this whole thing would be so much worse.

I just had lunch with one of my bestest friends in the entire world and of course I start talking about DCF because she is one who directed me to it years ago (and I told her about my blog). Of course, because she is 'cool like dat' knows you as well and I thought to myself - how wonderfully small (and large) is this city that there are few degrees of seperation between friends!
Long story short - Sarah Masek says HI! :)
