Hi there
Thanks for your post about living downtown for my neighborhoods article. I need to get your full name and phone number for the diligent fact checkers and editors at the magazine so I can use your comments. Can you email them to me? I'm at megankamerick@yahoo.com

Excellent - the craft fair is May 31 (Saturday) 11-4. Our Gallery opening is May 16 (Friday) 5-8:30. Fab if you can volunteer, either way I hope you can come out to the festivities! If you are up for volunteering, shoot me a message, and if not definitely introduce yourself at the events. I know this is a crazybusy end of school time, so whatever works. thanks!

Hey usemoreglue! Our gallery opening and craft show (craftacular group) are quickly approaching - we know you are too swamped to have a booth, but we are looking for volunteers to help out at either event - if you are interested, shoot me a message. ;)

Well, I'm an adult (at least, to the uninformed), and I like to think of myself as entertaining...

Really, though, I'm trying to think of a good topic to start in the group. Maybe something like, "Where can I find stripper shoes for men?"

After leaving a response to your Mazatlan query it really got me thinking about my journey through Mexico (and Central America) Nostalgia.......Anyhow, are you guys backpacking it, or is it more of a suitcase kind of trip? Have you traveled abroad before? I might be able to give you some pointers depending on your answers...

Hey Usemoreglue! Thanks for the welcome :) Coming from Seattle, the weather here so far has been excellent - WE CAN FINALLY SEE THE SUN! I only really get irritable when my meds are low :P

I should have brought some Top Pot goodness (best donuts ever!), but alas, no. Ah, their glazed old fashion was donut heaven.

We have big plans for the garden too (Basil!). Can't wait! I'm toying with the idea of growing my own hops, but I should probably start off a bit slower with the homebrewing thing, and see what I might want to grow.

so much to do...so much to do...

Great name! I have used horse hide glue for my furniture. The interesting thing about it is that its the only glue that is reversible - you can soften it with steam. No matter how well I build my furniture, sooner or later - maybe a hundred years from now, it will need repairs, and this glue will let that craftsman of the future do that.

How much glue to use is always a problem for me, too little and the piece won't be strong enough, too much and there's a big mess. Today I used too much! Yuck!

I see we both like long answers.

Have a great one!

Thanks for responding back. I left ABQ in 1998 and the first time I visited was in January 2005 but only for 3 days as I was driving across country from North Carolina to California. I was there again in late 2005 for a 6-week school and it was so nice to be in ABQ again. I didn't make it there at all in 2006 but did for a week in June 2007. I should be there again in hopefully April this year. I love that city and to me, it's the perfect sized city with nearly anything any major city has. The one thing that has amazed me is how downtown has made a turn around and while downtown could use more restaurants, I'm sure more restaurants will open up downtown with time. I know 6 years is a long time but it's worth the wait. I do enjoy California but ABQ is home to me now. However, I am glad one California business has made it to ABQ....Trader Joe's. Hope to hear back from you.

Hello usemoreglue! Glad you like the stories. They've been fun to write.

Right now I make jewelry, lots and lots of beaded jewelry. I like old vintage beads, especially old crystals. The more sparkly the better. And I like to wear as many of them as possible all at once! I used to do silversmithing and other metalwork (sculptures), but I don't have the space for it now. And I also glue rhinestones on EVERYTHING - staplers, cups, calculators, whatever I think needs more sparkle. I've been contemplating gluing my entire front door with rhinestones. We'll see... now you know why I love your name!!!
