Tomatoes!

It's that time of year in Albuquerque again. TOMATOES. Nothing better than a fresh tomato, unless it's a fresh tomato with basil, crusty bread and balsamic. Yum Yum Yum Yum YUM! And check out the height on these puppies:

Hairless at Home Depot

To the Woman Who Lost Her Hair Extensions on the floor of the Home Depot on Eubank, Thank you for making my day. When the kindly old man starting wandering around the nursery aisles with a clump of highlighted brunette fabulousness asking everyone he could find if they'd lost their hair; well I practically collapsed laughing into the vegetables. Here's hoping your hair made it back to your waiting arms safely.

Roll with Marble Brewery

I kept hearing about Marble Brewery and got a chance to check it out for myself tonight at the Local iQ B R E W O L O G Y. Check it out for yourself. Great food, cool space, sweet patio when it's not 106 degrees outside. Definitely a great addition to Albuquerque.

Moontastic!

It's the solstice moon tonight. Please refrain from any pagan snarking because what the solstice moon means is for many geometrically- and optically-related reasons, the moon will look flipping HUGE tonight. Check out this… Continue

What NOT to Leave at Your Curb on Recycling Day

Dear Fringecrest Neighbor, Recycling is important to our community. As is getting a brand new flat-screen-Vizeo-plasmatic-97-inch-TV so you can watch local programming in high-def. However, when you leave your hugenormous new TV box outside on recycling day for the entire world to see, you're just asking for trouble. Perhaps your TV is too big for a burglar to even consider filching, or perhaps you have a dozen rottweilers, but in case you don't, I suggest a trip to the community recycling bi… Continue

A bunch of cool shoes are 40 percent of plus another 30 percent off today at Dillard's. And in case you're debating pointing out my shoe-shallowness, I'm already aware of that thank you very much.

A Lovely Albuquerque Sunday

This Sunday reminded me why this town totally rocks. Brunch at Nob Hill Bar & Grill, the Zen Garden and tulips at the Biopark and fishies at the Aquarium. Who says there's nothing to do in this town? If you are wondering, Nob Hill Bar & Grill brunch was excellent. Prime rib AND eggs benedict! and Truffles! and Mimosas! I was in heaven, and the company… Continue

New Year's Resolution Update

A New Year's resolution is one of those fleeting things that disappears with the snow in late January. Or if one is lucky and dedicated, the resolution might hold up until Valentine's Day. Whether it's losing weight or exercising more; spending more time out… Continue

The Oddest Message I've Ever Gotten on Myspace

Looking for an old friend You would have lived only with your mother, in a wooded apartment near Colorado Springs. Your mother and mine (Peggy) were friends and usually babysat for each other... This would have been in the mid eighties. If this cannot be you than I'm sorry for taking your time... Thank you, Dan -- Nope, not me, never lived in Colorado. But a wooded apartment does sound kind of nice...

Overheard at the Caucus in the Washington Middle School Library

Mom: "Honey, see all those pictures? Those are the presidents of the United States. Do you notice anything about them?

Young son: "No, mommy, what should I notice?"

Mom: "They all look the same."

Son: "Oh... Mommy, when is Obama going to be up there with those guys?"

Mom: "Well honey, he's not the president yet, but he will be soon."

Nice running into you on Saturday. Sorry my mouth was stuffed full of food, but after a long ride, there are few distractions that will keep a cyclist from "refeuling." Especially with a good Sammy Smith's.
