Where I Live:
Barelas por vida
About Me:
A silly little San Francisco girl who lived in Phoenix for FIVE YEARS, and just relocated to Albuquerque. I up and moved myself from my childhood, the streets I knew, and all my friends in the pursuit of graduate school, cheaper living, and life experience. I'm finally tackling that great big mountain called graduate school - having finally been accepted to the School of Public Administration at the University of New Mexico. I have been blessed to have kept the good friends from the bay, found a bunch that I thought I lost, and have made so many more on my way.

Professionally, I'm a nonprofit fundraiser and social/political advocate. My passion is to find the root of the cause and figure out how to sell it to as many constituencies as possible. Fundraising is fundamentally marketing, and I enjoy turning a mission into a great package for the community to buy into. I currently work at the National Atomic Museum, which is a FASCINATING museum distinctively New Mexican. I'm the in-house special events and party maven, and LOVE putting together a fabulous event!

Personally, I live and love in the world of Rockabilly, Burlesque, Art, Performance, classic cars, coffee, with a little SCA thrown in there for fun!
Favorite Thing(s) About Albuquerque:
so far: trees, changes in weather, people, air quality, bunnies, roadrunners, and toads at the Rio Grande Pool

the bassoon is a part of your everyday life

Growing up, I always knew we lived life differently. My friends had dads in their homes, I had mine on the weekends. Other families had Volvos, we had a beat up late 70’s VW bus that couldn’t hit 55 if it tried. Growing up in the San Francisco Bay Area, there was definitely a lot o… Continue

a funny thing happened on the way to the zoo

One of my many activities here in Abq is the local SCA group of Al-Barran. It's a fun game, a fun group of people, and there's always something interesting going on. The things I love about the game fulfill my crafty & history loving nature. As a result of my participation in the game, I do a lot of historical costuming - mostly of Han and Tang China (my personal favorites!). I have also dug into some history and made things r… Continue

Hi, I haven't heard back from you about my photo that you used in the poster, and I'm getting concerned about that--If I don't hear from you I'm going to assume that you didn't give recognition for my photo. Even if you didn't follow through with that for some reason, please respond so we have a chance to work it out in a positive way. .

Hi--I'm getting back to you about my photo of the Lady of Guadalupe you used for the Art/Craft Show flyer. The flyer looked great. But I'm wondering where you credited me--I don't see any indication of the promised recognition, and I'm hoping I just missed it somehow.

Hey, it was so nice to meet you. I am very impressed by your sewing abilities. My youngest daughter has added you to her "goddess who walk the earth" list and I have to agree.
