Where I Live:
Ridgecrest
About Me:
I am a pink-collar, pseudo-revolutionary grrl. I live in Albu-queer-que, NM. I'm at UNM, in English and American studies. But I'm currently on sabbatical from school to concentrate on writing the least popular categories of literature, poetry and Beckett-esque plays. I work as a freelance journalist and pink-collar wage slave. I have at least two years of school left -- when I return to academia. I plan to eventually explore my aptitude for teaching high school. When I inevitably tire of that, , perhaps I'll get mired down in graduate work and remain a rusty but frisky academic cog... In retirement, I will scrawl absurdist polemics and poetry, make art with my partner, continue to write, etc. I favor juxtaposition (yes, I know this word is hellishly misused/overused), camp, humor, naughtiness, color! and irreverence. I'm way into the written word. Having outgrown my hard-core partying phase, I still regularly engage in low-risk chemical and herbal diversion. I prefer cut-ups to sit-ups. I spend most of my time at my home in front of my television (watching DVDs or the BBC), my computer (enjoying online media, reading blogs, reading and researching via the Internet constantly), taking long, hot baths, doing yoga, reading fiction and poetry, doing collage art, sewing, dancing around my living room to Le Tigre and Peaches, and getting my beauty sleep. I have an adorable but ill-mannered Rhodesian-Ridgeback mix named Schrodinger; my partner's mutt, Rosie, is also an important part of our family. I like ritual but am not a fan of religion, organized or private. My art-making and consumption lean toward Dadaism, Lettrism, "meat art", Outsider Art, Situationism and Surrealism. I often take cliche bubble baths with my collection of rubber duckies, including a Mae West Celibriduck and one that vibrates. I identify as bisexual but am in a long-term monogamous relationship with a brilliant and compassionate man, who teaches and writes. I relish fem-porn, seksy sci-fi, and intellectual erotica and am utterly sex positive. I embrace mindfulness, new experiences, good grammar, class-conscious people, radical acceptance and dark chocolate.

Dear Ya'll,

As NaNoWriMo draws to a close, I thought the creation of an atypical writing group here on Duke City Fix might allow the wordsmiths among us to continue to exercise our literary muscles.

Punk May Be Dead But It Lives On In Media, Memories, Methodologies

With all this recent discussion of whether punk is, in fact, dead or -- as the recent indie documentary that ended its three-day run at the Guild Cinema today purports -- "Punk's Not Dead," I won't any longer fight my desire to share my favorite examples of genuine punk ethos. Oh, and for those interested in learning more about the above-mentioned punk documentary, visit one of my favorite employees/intrepid Lobo reporter Eva Dameron's article… Continue

Sometimes you can find bento boxes at Arirang up on Eubank north of Constitution. I know I've seen them some where else but I can't remember where at the moment. I don't think I've ever seen them at Talin; but then they rotate their stock in weird ways so who knows, perhaps one day.
