Hi dog breath! We are still trying to plan the next event. Come back to the forum when you get a chance - there are a few replies to your post about the local Wine Enthusiast group ;-)

I was talking about the problems that my neighbors face in complying with city regs. I just live in an older neighborhood with older or disabled neighbors and I think this is an area, where the Albuquerque city government sucks. Now, I need to get out to my alley or clean up trash from middle school kids walking home. Basically, I was bitching. Sorry

Hey, I have some pieces at the Weyrich Gallery, Louisiana & Candelaria, and sold stuff at 'We Art the People' recently- that's about it- I'm pretty busy with my landscape bizz. Is that your dog in the picture? Its a great picture.

I know exactly what you mean. When you have a major concern-like your broken concrete-the city breathing down your neck-and scared of fines-jail time and the city taking your house-it's difficult to process things. I'm still not quite over what I went through. The woman across the street buried her husband a few weeks before the shit hit the fan. She hired people from an agency, paid with her grocery money and they walked off. She was ashamed to tell any of her family. Some of the neighbors and I would go over and work on a small patch by our houses. She caught us and she almost died of humiliation. One house to the east-behind us has several doddering old ladies-mother and daughter. A daughter that's pretty bright-must have been adopted-paid some college kids about $200 to clean their area of the alley. # guys showed up-pulled about six tall weeds, put them in a car and drove off. I was out and saw that happen.
My son is a disabled vet and now he's scared that he'll wake up one morning and have the cops move him out. He's scared all of the time.

I thought was it. According to the zoning department you can get an extention, if you're working on it. You just call them up and tell them it'll take a little over 2 weeks. The problem is if a neighbor hassles you by complaining to zoning, if it's from zoning-it should be okay. I went to a downtown meeting held by zoning a little over a year ago, and some women complained about construction supplies, and torn out cement in a neighbors yard- the city said that it couldn't really do anything about that-but they'd try to intimidate the people. You get these new inspectors out all full of fire and brimstone-then they realize that these laws and regulations are often unfair burdens. If there's a next time ask them why they're picking on you-and why you can't have time.

Hi Dog Breath,
Looks like you have quite a bit of work going on at your casa. I just finished some indoor work/renovations this year and am happy to be done, and reclaim my new space. How's your front yard coming along? Next year (and probably years to follow) I'm hoping to tackle some of the back yard.

And--totally unrelated--I tried to get music to play when someone open my DCF page, but it doesn't happen. What's your secret? I like your music playing now.

Did you get it cleared out? I'm not sure if your elbow is out from putting it there or clearing it out.
On another discussion the prohibition thing, I found out that as long as you work on it, you can have more than 10 days, but you really have to be a squeaky wheel. Play up your age as much as possible. Find out where the complaint came from-inspectors driving around or from the neighbors. If from inspectors, tell them to drive somewhere else. Ask to talk to the big boss, he's actually pretty nice, if he's still there.
