About Me:: Born and raised in Roseville, Minnesota. Have lived in the Bay Area and San Diego California, Germany, Finland and Chicago, where I met Kathy about 22 years ago. A lifelong computer geek, 18+ years at current job, working fully remotely for the last 10+ years, Kathy and I have decided that Albuquerque is where we'll start to ease slowly into retirement mode (a few years away yet). Rabid soccer player/fan, so I hope to find a group of other old farts and have a regular kick-around ... Also love hockey, travel, playing guitar, and web/graphic design. Looking forward to all that the area has to offer! Oh, and a SmartCar ForTwo owner for 2+ months.

Favorite Thing(s) About Albuquerque:: Yet to be discovered ... although rain in the summer is a treat after a decade in California.

What I'm Reading:: Conquistador by S.M. Sterling, an alternative history/future novel. Science Fiction.

What I'm Listening To:: Almost anything ... from Aarktika to Zoviet France. Ambient to World genres.

At 9:04pm on July 23rd, 2008, Michael Knutson said…: Hi Luann - Trip was less traumatic than we had expected. The cats were real troopers; slept most of the way. Overnight in Flagstaff was a challenge, as the motel was right across the street from a MAJOR train tracks, and there was at least a train an hour all night, so neither cat nor human got much sleep. Now the next challenge is getting them used-to an empty apartment, as our furniture won't arrive until next week. They've had the 3am crazies every night so far, and I wake up in the morning exhausted. Of course, sleeping on a camping cot doesn't help! I'll be happy to see that tempurpedic arrive! But, we're safe and sound, and I'm thankful for that! Now on to the MVD for my drivers license ...

We're leaving Saturday, July 19th with the cats in carriers in the back of our volvo five-door V50, driving to Flagstaff, stopping for a few hours sleep and entertaining the cats (and cleaning the litter boxes), and then a few more hours drive to our apartment, that should be ready at about noon on the 20th. Home! Of course, here it's chaos right now with packing, craftspersons doing some last minute fix-up, etc; so I'm looking forward to the drive!
