I was fumbling around (as I'm prone to do) on DCF and came across Adelita's My Page (she was kind enough to add me as a friend when I first evolved from lurker to DCF'er)...

Anyways, the first song on her "What I'm listening to", a song by Sean Castillo, which I know well by a couple of blues guitarists who have tried to teach me 12-bar blues, much to their dismay...

At any rate, this riff, if you first listen to it, reminds me very very much of a riff I heard on one of my all-time favorite TV shows, "Sports Night". Sports Night was an Aaron Sorkin/Tommy Schlamme production, brilliantly written and not-well-received by the American public.

Enough of my love for Sorkin and Schlamme (and Emmy award winning W.G. Snuffy Walden, who did many many scores and music for shows, including The Wonder Years - who could forget Winnie Cooper...)

The artist I link to is Susan Tedeschi, and she rocks.

I buy lots of my music at Bookworks. They have an incredible selection of blues, jazz and local stuff. Ask for Russell. He's a walking encyclopedia of blues! And keep playing!; ▶ Reply to This
