Found: parakeet @ Quincy ST and Gibson Ave NE

I found this little guy walking along the sidewalk. My dog wanted to eat him but otherwise he's ok. Very people friendly. He's currently munching on seeds in our guest room.

As NN's s.o. who was at work when the bird came home, I would be one of those you speak of, guilty of the "Aw let's keep him" whim... but you know, he's not as cuddly as a pup. Just doesn't measure up to the dingo with jaws of steel I love so much. Cute, but what do you do with him? Hope we find his rightful keeper soon.

There were several parakeets listed as missing in the Lost & Found section of the journal last time I checked.

Did you ever find the owner of this guy? If not, you might want to buy him some real parakeet food. I don't know if that stuff you're giving him might be fattening.

We ended up giving him to a sweet little girl and her mom. She was plenty excited to take him home :)

He wasn't easy to catch though. It took me about 15 min. to finally corner him and get him in the cage.

I think that same little guy was in my yard a week or so ago. I'm at Cagua and Bell. I came out one afternoon and the bird was eating from my chickens' food dish. S/he coyly flew into my trees and let me get closer slowly then would fly off to another tree. I did check the Journal, Animal Humane and City Animal Services and didn't find a match. Glad you nabbed it and found a good home.
