O'Neils = Dog Friendly?

I'm sure this has been discussed over and over again but does anyone know if O'Neils allows dogs on their patio? And if not are there other Nob Hill places besides Kelly's that do?

I called O'Niell's about this once and they don't allow dogs.

Thanks! Looks like we'll be going somewhere else then!

Gecko's allows dogs on their patio.

Good question! I just know of Flying Stars allowing pups. Also if your dog is small, random awesome Mexican spot on NE side called Papa Nachos allowed puppies on the patio.

ABQ Dog has a pretty good list (possibly a little dated so I'd call first).

Included:
Boston Pizza
El Norteno
Gold Street Caffe
PARS
Standard Diner

And more!

Thanks so much!
I love that there are at least a few good options in town.
How/where is El Norteno?

It's on Zuni between San Mateo and San Pedro, but they're closed, at the moment...they had a fire in the kitchen a few months back. When it's open, it's pretty good Mexican (that's Old Mexican) food.

They said they might not reopen... but their patio is seldom used anyway, who wants to look at Zuni while you eat????

From O'Niell's FAQ:

Pub Policies

Can I bring my dog with me when I visit your patio?

The "dogs on the patio" question is a difficult one, in which we have had to balance our love of animals against our responsibility to our guests. While we would love to be able to accommodate those who want to bring their dogs to the patio, the liability issues prevent us from doing so.

Most dog owners are very responsible and would take care to ensure that their dog did not cause any problems. Unfortunately, there are always a few people who would bring more aggressive dogs with them, and still others who might bring a more mellow dog but not keep their dog under control. While we love dogs, we would not want to see any guest (or guest's dog) threatened or injured by another guest's dog. Unfortunately, we have no way to guarantee the safety of customers or their pets, so the only viable solution is to say no to all dogs on the patio.

Gecko's allows dogs but it's always a challenge finding a table so get there early on the weekends. Not in Nob Hill, but Chama River Brewery allows dogs on their patios except on friday and saturday nights, and their microbar downtown is a fun place to go with you pup also.

Kelly's on central is good with dogs on the patio. Most of the Flying stars are also cool with dogs on the patio & have doggie treats.

We had a great time at Geckos the other day with the dog. They brought her a bowl of water and treats!
