The Krazy Kat bust doesn't surprise me. For a couple of years back in the 90's, I was having them cut cassettes (remember those) with my favorite songs so I didn't have to by the albums (round black vinyl discs with music cut into them in a long groove). I always wondered how they got away with it but never asked.

The Rodeo Concerts are invariably LAME. Who books that crap? I guess there's a reason that the Country Format is #1 in this town. Is each performer required to do "Proud to be an American" as the encore? See you at the free Animals and Molly Hatchet concerts, though...

Are drivers ignoring the cell phone ban while driving? Are you kidding me? Bwahahahahahahahahaha. OF COURSE they are. Since the Albq. police made a statement when the law was passed that they wouldn't ticket people, no one bothers to obey this particular ordinance. Twice last week I was nearly run over by people yapping on their phone. Also--how on earth can the APD spokesman say that the police enforce the ban when our number one scofflaw, Jason Daskalos didn't even get a cell phone citation on his most recent incident? Bah.

Masshole: if you mean the rodeo concerts are crap because they are country, well, it IS a rodeo. Kind of screams for country-western music, no?

The State Fair concert/rodeo line-up has been crappy for as long as I can remember. Every year I hoped that they would book someone cool like Earth, Wind and Fire. Instead we got Ronnie Milsap (and he's back again in '08) or some other lame performer. Back in the 70's, my dad actually won tickets to see Doug Kershaw, who was billed as the "Ragin' Cajun". He wasn't half bad, surprisingly enough.

There is no cellphone ban while driving. There *is* a ban on usage of a cellphone while driving without a handsfree device. Still, I still don't see the need to be yakking away while driving. AT ALL. Hang up and drive, ABQ.

I second that, Derek! and NO SINGING to the radio. wouldn't want anyone to cause an accident while singing to Neil Diamond's "Sweet Caroline"!

it's good to know we don't have a complete idiot running Expo New Mexico -- now that they conveniently announced an admission fee hike of $2 per person 13 and older (so the free parking doesn't look so good after all when you may end up paying more at the gate if you take along a lot of adult or teen friends). Now if they can only collect the mucho bucks that renters at Tingley Coliseum haven't paid them.

as for the rail runner - my idea would be Roadrunner Rail (but that may be too close to the Six Flags Road Runner Railway name).
