Community Gardens in Albuquerque?

Someone I work with just moved here from Georgia and is wondering if there are any community gardens in Albuquerque in which he could participate? Any insight would be great.

Does anyone have any suggestions on how to spruce up a tired old wood floor?

Dolores, are you floors sealed? If so, wax might not be the right option and may dull your floors. Hard to know without seeing them but your landlord might be able to tell you. Good luck!

Wedding Reception

Cory, I heard that the aquarium is a pretty cool place for wedding receptions. Also, the Embassy Suites is a good central location if you need to have it at a hotel. Good luck and most importantly... Continue

A Lovely Albuquerque Sunday

This Sunday reminded me why this town totally rocks. Brunch at Nob Hill Bar & Grill, the Zen Garden and tulips at the Biopark and fishies at the Aquarium. Who says there's nothing to do in this town? If you are wondering, Nob Hill Bar & Grill brunch was excellent. Prime rib AND eggs benedict! and Truffles! and Mimosas! I was in heaven, and the company… Continue

The Oddest Message I've Ever Gotten on Myspace

Looking for an old friend You would have lived only with your mother, in a wooded apartment near Colorado Springs. Your mother and mine (Peggy) were friends and usually babysat for each other... This would have been in the mid eighties. If this cannot be you than I'm sorry for taking your time... Thank you, Dan -- Nope, not me, never lived in Colorado. But a wooded apartment does sound kind of nice...

Overheard at the Caucus in the Washington Middle School Library

Mom: "Honey, see all those pictures? Those are the presidents of the United States. Do you notice anything about them?

Young son: "No, mommy, what should I notice?"

Mom: "They all look the same."

Son: "Oh... Mommy, when is Obama going to be up there with those guys?"

Mom: "Well honey, he's not the president yet, but he will be soon."

Why Albuquerque Doesn't Suck

I love my Maryland hometown and am always excited to visit. And as I begin my trip to any of this country's fabulous eastern cities, I always am struck by a slight sense of envy that those places have so many things that Albuquerque lacks.

- widespread public transportation
- big, wide glorious rivers
- tons of people
- tons of food
- rockin' new years eve parties at the Museum of Industry… Continue

The Cheesesteak Capital of The World

It's 54 degrees in practically balmy Philadelphia. WTF. God I love this city. And now I'm on my way to Sephora - nyah, nyah.

Made it out of Chicago yesterday by the skin of my teeth - total winter chaos, makes me appreciate New Mexico even more. However, I'm spending New Year's Eve in Baltimore, one of my favorite cities. Then I'm watching the New Mexico float in the Rose Parade before I watch USC kick ass at the game.…

Nice running into you on Saturday. Sorry my mouth was stuffed full of food, but after a long ride, there are few distractions that will keep a cyclist from "refeuling." Especially with a good Sammy Smith's.
