Another news tv slur is using a comparative withhout the other half...(More Negatory kudos to advertising)...A vague example: It's better but leaves off the better than...And the IS-ARE lack of agreements run rampant on the tv evening snewz. [And if you can make total sense of my paragraph, then you are a Grammar Maven!

Another local tv news journalist tonight confused his use of less with few...Differences were subtle but gaping at the same time.

Why does improper grammar hurt the ears?

I'm no longer really a grammar maven (seriously, ask anyone in GMAT Prep!). But I do occasionally aspire to be, and having old Bill's visage looking out at me reminds me of the delight I had as a high school student awaiting his On Language column each Sunday.

Thanks. I think Albuquerque's just a little bit better now that this group exists.
