I went to apply but the webpage and the application say the deadline is June 30.

Can I still apply? If so what is the application fee?

Check out the July issue of ABQ Arts, page 8, with a great article on the Go! Arts Festival. The article explains the newest addition to the festival, a Photography exhibit called the Darkroom. We are currently looking for photographers with images of downtown Albuquerque. The Darkroom Gallery will most likely be installed in an empty building along Gold Ave.

Looking for more great ideas, artists, and projects which will enhance the festival. Thanks to ABQ Arts for the plug!

So I will start things off with my dream for the arts festival...

I have always wanted to have a beer garden at the Go! Fest. A place to go an sit and sip a local microbrew. Too many times I see folks come into the festival, walk thru, and head on to the next activity. I think a beer garden would help keep folks engaged, entertained and lingering.

So this year we have worked out an arrangement with Downtown's Microbrewery - The Marble Brewery - to assist us with this new addition to the festival. More on this topic soon...

On behalf of the Downtown Action Team and the Go! Arts Festival Staff, we extend our great appreciation to those who have joined this forum, participated in our focus group and of course all the
artists who have participated in this great event.

We are extremely excited about the future of the Arts in Albuquerque and how this festival can continue to grow into a destination arts festival and signature event for Downtown.

So go for it, put it out there! Tell us what you love, hate, dream or desire for the Go! Arts Festival. What would make you come, or bring a friend. What would make you ask yourself, "Is this actually happening?" What would make you want to be a part of this event? Thanks for your comments, questions and remarks...

Hey All, it seems that our group membership is starting to grow. That's AWESOME! I know that some of you aren't always on the computer, so the pace of this group might be fast for some, and slow for others, which is completely fine.

I am envisioning this group to be a meeting place to discuss ideas about organization, participation, and promotion for the Go! fest.

I am planning on meeting with Chris today to talk to him about some things. I'll ask him about posting committees up here to the group. I'll report back to y'all 'bout what we discussed.

Best,
Jason
